Archdiocesan Synod 2021

Archbishop Hebda has begun a two-year Synod process in order to hear and understand what’s going well in the Archdiocese and our parishes and what opportunities there are to address and the challenges we face. Each parish in our Archdiocese has been asked to develop a Synod Ambassador Team. This team will assist in promoting the Synod and small groups in our parish, with two members serving as delegates to the Synod Assembly in 2021. Mary Mother’s Team includes the following:

Robert Pemble, Kate Onyeneho, Tess Willard, Jim Rice, Marie Rice, Nancy Arbogast, Fr. Tim Rudolphi, and Fr. Jim Perkl.

We encourage all parishioners to attend one of the 20 pre-Synod Prayer and Listening Events across the Archdiocese between now and March 14. This is your opportunity to be heard. The Archbishop wants to hear from all of us, so please take the time to attend one of the upcoming events. If you have any questions regarding the Synod, feel free to reach out to one of our Team Ambassadors, or you can find excellent resources on the website: archspm.org/synod.

Dates for upcoming Prayer and Listening Events:

  • Saturday, Jan. 5, 1-4pm at Holy Cross, Minneapolis   (ASL interpreted)
  • Saturday, Jan. 25, 9am-noon at St. Peter Claver,  St. Paul
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28, 6-9pm at Pax Christi, Eden Prairie

Your input is valuable because the ultimate outcome of the Synod will be a Pastoral Plan from Archbishop Hebda, which will guide the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis for the next 5-10 years.
