What is Community Life?

How many times have you read or heard about Community Life at Mary Mother? Perhaps you’re not familiar with this group, or maybe you’re not sure what it means or what they do. Community Life is a group of parishioners that volunteer organizing parish events and Sunday hospitality. This group is dedicated to the idea of bringing all parishioners together, to share fellowship with one another.

Attending Mass helps us to Live Jesus and fellowship is another way to Live Jesus as well. After all, Jesus broke bread with the Apostles and enjoyed conversation with them!

When it’s Donut Sunday, please take the time to enjoy a pastry in the Atrium after Mass, to sit for a few minutes with fellow parishioners and get to know one another. Mass doesn’t end when we walk out the doors of the church, we are called to go in peace and serve the Lord, to continue the works of Christ.

If you haven’t attended one of our parish events before, make it a personal goal this year to do so. We have Sundaes on Sunday, September 9, our Parish Anniversary Celebration September 29-30, the Chili Supper January 26, the Easter Vigil Reception April 20, and Donut Sunday twice a month, starting in September. Also consider serving on our committee! We would like to expand our group and new faces are always welcome.

If you are willing to help serve on Community Life, we look forward to meeting you! Whether you want to volunteer at one event, or all, your help is appreciated! Please contact Parish Business Administrator Nancy Arbogast if you are interested in volunteering at an event or serving on the Community Life Committee. Email: narbogast@mmotc.org
