Children (Age 3-Grade 5)
Children’s Faith Formation – Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Children (Age 3-Grade 5)
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a hands-on, experiential method of learning that offers the essentials of our Catholic faith in a way that engages and delights children through presentations rooted in liturgy and scripture.
Faith Formation for our youth and their families at Mary Mother takes a holistic approach.
Youth (Grades 6-12+)
It begins by emphasizing the importance of being connected and committed as a family to the Sunday liturgy. From there, all families with youth in grades 6-12 are encouraged to participate in the formation sessions prepared specifically for them.
Faith Formation for adults provides opportunities to continue to grow in our faith.
Adult Faith Formation
Through active engagement in Bible Study, Women’s Ministry, Sunday faith formation sessions, special retreats, and missions, adults are encouraged to continue their faith journey at Mary, Mother of the Church.
Baptism, Eucharist, & Confirmation together constitute the sacraments of Christian initiation.
Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiations, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.
RCIA is a process for anyone who wishes to inquire about or to join the Catholic faith.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Individuals in the RCIA process gather with members of the Mary Mother family who walk with the catechumens and candidates as companions and sponsors. They reflect together on the Sunday scripture readings, grow in understanding Catholic beliefs and practices, share and listen to faith stories, and discern the call to a faith community.
