Have you wondered about …
Joining the Catholic faith community through Baptism?
Celebrating sacraments in the Catholic Church by being received into the Catholic Church from another tradition?
Experiencing Catholicism as a way of life by completing First Eucharist and Confirmation as an adult?
RCIA is a process for anyone who wishes to inquire about or to join the Catholic faith. Preparation for Adult Baptism (includes anyone over the age of 7 who has not been baptized) and Adult Initiation (celebrating the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist) are part of the RCIA process. The primary goal of this journey is conversion, conversion to Christ. Ideally, it is a one year process providing catechumens (those who are unbaptized) and candidates (those who have been baptized in another faith tradition) a full liturgical year of faith filled experiences.
Individuals in the RCIA process gather with members of the Mary Mother family who walk with the catechumens and candidates as companions and sponsors. They reflect together on the Sunday scripture readings, grow in understanding Catholic beliefs and practices, share and listen to faith stories, and discern the call to a faith community. The process involves formation in the Gospel teachings, as well as involvement in apostolic works.
Open Inquiry sessions take place on the third Monday evening of each month at 6:30 p.m., and newcomers are welcome to join us at any time. RCIA sessions are held on Sundays. The RCIA Team and sponsors from the community experience a faith renewal and transformation as well. This process is on-going, so we are available year round for anyone inquiring about the Catholic faith. Come, join us … and be a part of our community.
