Dear Friends in Christ,

Looking ahead into October, I would like to recommend a three-day conference meeting at Mary, Mother of the Church from Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22. The title of the
conference is, The Kingdom of the Divine Will.

This three-day conference will seek to explore the question of how we may more fully live the following words that we so often pray in the Lord’s Prayer, “. . . Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The content of the conference presented by Fr. Robert Young, OFM, will seek to illuminate how we may better live the Lord’s Prayer that Jesus taught us each to pray. Why is living the Lord’s Prayer and living in God’s expressed will so important in this time in history? In the bewildering aftermath of violence, individuals and nations around the world are seeking direction how best to respond to acts of terrorism and violence around the globe.

In the statement “regarding recent acts of terrorism and violence” that Archbishop Bernard Hebda most recently promulgated and that you heard both Fr. Tim and I read on the weekend of August 20, you heard Pope Francis quoted as saying, “The Christian’s real force is the force of truth and of love, which involves renouncing all forms of violence. Faith and violence are incompatible! Instead, faith and strength go together. Christians are not violent; they are strong. And with what kind of strength? That of meekness, the strength of meekness, the strength of love.” In light of this message from Pope Francis and Archbishop Hebda, this three-day conference will explore how living in the Divine Will does enable us to be the kind of Christians Pope Francis is calling us to be. Not just in the face of terrorism and violence, but more significantly in our day-to-day life.

If seeking to live more fully the Lord’s Prayer may interest you, Fr. Young is a master teacher, who for the past 20 years has been introducing others to the gift of the Divine Will. Called to propagate this most important message, he hosts a weekly program on Radio Maria that is broadcast throughout the world and is focused on Luisa Picarretta and her writings.

The schedule of The Kingdom of the Divine Will Conference is as follows:

Friday, October 20, 7:00pm to 9:00 pm
Saturday, October 21, 8:00 am Mass / 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Sunday, October 22, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
