Stephen Ministry

This is a one-on-one listening ministry that offers peer support to help people through the death of a loved, one, terminal illness, loss of job, depression, loneliness, being new in a parish, new birth in the family, divorce, etc. (This ministry is not a source of professional counseling).

What it is:
Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one caregiving program available to anyone in the Mary Mother faith community who may be experiencing a personal crises or personal loss in their life. Lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Stephen Ministry helps pastors and congregations provide quality caring ministry for as long as people need it. Christ works through Stephen Ministers to help fulfill his teaching that, because we are all uniquely important to the Father, we are called upon to care for one another, particularly in time of need. Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry. The identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private.

Contact the parish office at 952-890-0045 to arrange for a Stephen Minister to visit with you or if you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister.
