On Mission

…all of us are asked to obey his call to go forth from our own comfort zone in order to reach all the peripheries’ in need of the light of the Gospel.”

Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis

We are called as a parish and as individuals to actively and passionately expand our Catholic worldview to include our brothers and sisters in other countries and other cultures sharing our faith, relationship and resources through solidarity and by respecting the dignity of all.

This work includes mission trips and support for global missions. Our youth occasionally take mission trips abroad and within the United States and Mary Mother of the Church has a special relationship with Risen Savior Missions.

Our Lenten Collections and other activities go to support the work of Risen Savior Missions. RSM is the main shipper and distributor of food into the Philippines, with Feed My Starving Children, nutritious, Manna Pack Rice casserole, coming from America. RSM provides food for approximately 105,000 starving children yearly in the Philippines and about 5,000 more in Zimbabwe.

As we are all missionaries through our baptism, the Center for Mission encourages participation in mission experience through prayer, engagement and financial gifts of support.
