October 15, 1941 to August 4, 2018

Age 76, of Eagan, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2018. Preceded in death by parents Virgil and Cyrilla Diers, brother Jim and sister Carmie. Survived by wife of 55 years, Donna; their 2 children Lisa (Steve) Arneson and Joe (Juline) Diers; grandchildren Noah Arneson, Jack, Wyatt and Sydney Diers; siblings Ginny (John) Holt, Jane Diers, Bill Diers, and Jeff (Joanna) Diers, and other family and friends. Tom’s greatest pride and joy were his family, especially his grandchildren, each of whom saw Tom front and center at any important activity or milestone event. Tom was born and raised in Belle Plaine, the oldest of 7 siblings. Tom worked at Chicago NW and Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years. Affectionately called “The Mayor,” Tom will be missed by many neighbors. If you needed help, Tom was the first to volunteer. Tom will be forever remembered for his Irish wit, sense of humor, and unique storytelling skill, but most importantly, his upbeat, positive approach to all aspects of life. Tom’s family and friends will carry memories of fishing, hunting, boating, and strawberry-picking, and anytime Tom arrived with one of his delicious apple pies, you knew you were in for a treat.  A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, August 10, at 11:00 am at Mary Mother of the Church, 3333 E. Cliff Rd; Burnsville, MN. Visitation one hour prior. Arrangements by: Klecatsky & Sons Chapel, klecatskys.com, 651-454-9488
