Mary, Mother of the Church
April 11, 1934 - July 7, 2017

Bohumil, John B. age 83 of Burnsville passed away on July 7, 2017. Preceded in death by parents Carl and Lorene Bohumil. Survived by wife of 63 years Carm; children John (Kirstine), Kim (Troy) Goodhart and Lisa (Adam) Thompson; grandchildren Jillian (Chris) Caesar Jessie (Aaron) Cavanaugh Eric Bohumil (Jordana Vitullo),Kelly (Steve) Gisch, Nicole Bonrud (Andy Hemenway), Keifer (Elisabeth) Goodhart, Colton Goodhart Kiele Sterner Kaela Sterner; great grandchildren Connor, Trevor, Claire, Alivia, Corinne, Tyler, Lucy, Jaxon, Hudson, Molly, Vincent, Ana, Olivia and another on the way. brother Carl (Marian) Bohumil; Also by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


John BohumilHemet and married the love of his life, Carm , in Kansas City, on April 24, 1954. He enlisted in the US Army in 1956 and served 2 years as a computer consultant in both Chicago and Washington DC. They relocated and settled in Burnsville, MN in 1969. The family enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and boating. He retired from Xerox in 1994, after 17 years. During his retirement they enjoyed their annual trips to St Augustine, FL. He enjoyed family get togethers, BBQs and golfing with his friends. John was an avid Jayhawks fan and enjoyed watching their basketball team whenever possible. He also enjoyed baking new recipes, and sharing these with his grandkids. He is famous for his "Monkey Brains", Lemon Bars and Hot Cakes. Family was always the most important thing to John, he was always there to help and offer advice to anyone who asked, and even those that didn't. He was known for his love to research. Family time was very important and special, and everyone enjoyed the stories and memories that John would share sitting around the table, a campfire or his favorite spot on the sun porch. John always made a positive impact on everyone he met, and he has so many friends that will truly miss him and his friendship. The family would like extend a special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and Aids in the cardiac ICU units at both UMMC and Fairview Southdale. Their special care and attention they provided John will be forever appreciated. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Friday, July 14, 2017 at Mary, Mother of the Church-lower level chapel, 3333 East Cliff Rd. Burnsville, MN. Visitation one hour prior to Mass in chapel. Entombment, Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Heart Association.
