SACRAMENTS
"Through the Sacraments, God shares his holiness with us so that we, in turn, can make the world holier."
- USCCB
Baptism
In Baptism, we are called to live a new life in Christ by the removal of original sin and entry as members into the Catholic Church, the Body of Christ.
Eucharist
The Eucharist is "the source and summit" of the Christian life. Jesus' Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, truly present and received under the appearances of bread and wine.
Confirmation
Confirmation deepens our Baptismal call to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ. We receive a deeper outpouring of the the Holy Spirit, who Jesus promised would be sent for the building up of the Church.
Reconciliation
Jesus entrusted the ministry of reconciliation to the Church. In confession, we have the opportunity to repent and recover the grace of friendship with God. With absolution, we are reconciled to God and the Church.
Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit's gift of peace and courage to face illness and aging. The person also unites their suffering to Christ, participating in His passion.
Marriage
The Sacrament of Matrimony is a covenant, a permanent union of husband and wife, with both persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God.
Holy Orders
Men who are considering Holy Orders, either as deacons or as priests, are invited to reach out to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis Office of Vocations.
